Where Do You Put the Lights in a Rectangle Pool?

0

Adding pool lights is a great way to make the most of your outdoor space. Lighting can provide safety, reduce the risk of accidents, and can also be used to enhance the aesthetic appeal of the pool. However, before you begin the installation, there are a few things mentioned by  lightscapes lighting experts that you need to consider. You need to know how much lighting you need and how to install it to avoid safety issues.

They recommend that the lights be installed at least 9 inches to 18 inches below the water surface. This ensures that the light does not overheat and that it does not cause reflections on the water’s surface. There are several other advantages to installing lights at this depth. These include avoiding random reflections on the water surface, avoiding glare, and minimizing the risk of bulb failure.

If you have a rectangular pool, you will need to decide between placing multiple lights on the sides and narrow ends of the pool and a single light on each end of the pool. This is a choice that will depend on the color of the pool’s interior. Dark-colored pools will absorb color and may need more lights to properly illuminate the pool’s area. White or light-colored pools will work well with the lighting methods described in the preceding sections.

If you have a kidney-shaped pool, you may want to place parallel lights on each side. This is a new wrinkle in the swimming pool design. However, it does not apply to all pools. There is no specific rule about how many lights to place in a kidney-shaped pool.

Some people prefer to keep the pool’s lighting simple, using a few lights at lower wattages and placing them strategically. The result is an even glow. This can help to highlight features such as waterfalls or unique water features. Other people prefer to use more ambient light for pool parties. In either case, however, it is important to ensure that the lights are not in violation of any local or national codes.

For a rectangular pool, the standard is to place lights at intervals of eight feet. However, some local inspectors enforce a five-foot rule.

Another option is to place lights at the long ends of the pool. If you place them in a straight line, the result will be an even glow. However, parallel lights produce a less even glow. This is because the most concentrated portion of the beam spans an angle of 60 degrees. It is therefore important to map out your angles to ensure that the lights cover the entire pool area.

The light cord will run from the niche, out the back, to the junction box. To ensure that the conduit is properly sealed, you can purchase a Cord Stopper. The Cord Stopper will wrap around the cord and secure it against the conduit connection. You can also purchase a variety of Cord Stopper sizes.

Whether you use the above tips or another method to light your pool, you can be assured that you will have a safe and enjoyable swim. You can also enjoy your pool’s lighting during the evening hours.
